This is a little bit of a project car I purchased. Hoping to bring her back to life. In the past week I've replaced the cam chain tensioner, and camshaft sprocket due to the key sheering off. I had her all put back together, start her up and it has a horrible idle for about 45-60 seconds. Than all of a sudden, it smooths out perfectly! Runs and drives awesome, smooth and quiet after that initial 45-60 seconds. I noticed that the SAI pump does not run, also the tube that runs from the SAI pump to the hard metal pipe is completely broken off. My 2005 a4 recently broke that same line, but it does not run like this. The pump turns on and whirls away and I get a cel for incorrect flow but no poor idle like my 2000 atw. Any thoughts? I've gone through most of the vacuum lines, everything seems to be in order, can't find any leaks or cracked lines. The only thing left is the SAI pump! Also I have no CEL's aside from random misfires on it. I figured I would consult the experts here before throwing money on parts that I may not need. Much thanks in advanced guys!
