2000 Audi A4 No Compression
Hi, I have a 2000 Audi A4 1.8T B5 ATW car. I was driving it on the highway on my way to Minnesota and the oil pressure light came on. Within about 5 seconds of the light, the car shut off. Now the engine turns and all the belts turn including the timing belt which is still intact and running fine. Every so often if I leave the car sit and then try to turn it over it spins and slightly catches and I can hear it turn over but then loses compression again. I didn't do a compression check but from the sound I can tell I don't have compression. The valves and cams all spin and move correctly, although I did find molten plastic under the valve cover. Could it be the tensioner is bad that connects the cams together? And I don't think any valves are bent because nothing slipped and the belts are intact. I have heard though the key on the crank gear can break and cause issues. Wondering if anyone can help?
