Anyone ever have a bent clutch fork? (X-post)

Oh . .misread you then. I've no first hand experience with this because I was careful :) but I know
someone (who shall go nameless but his initials are Gjaime ) who installed the release bearing backwards. According to him, the clutch isn't operable when installed backwards and yours starts out being 'reasonably' normal whe nfirst buttoned up but then drops over time.
Pulling the tranny again to inspect the release bearing arm sounds like a PITA to me.

Out of curiosity....
IIRC, there is a spacer between the engine and the trans on the 2.7T. Is it still there?
It's only like 1/2" thick or something like that. Whether it would cause problems if it's gone, I don't know.

IIRC the 'intermediate plate' is 11.2 MM thick. I would think if it was left off the tranny would
mount ~.450" too far fwd. Would anything, trans mounts, input shaft depth into the flywheel, etc., line up sufficient to go un-noticed?

It might go together OK....
and if not, a crowbar would certainly help
If it did go together, with the amount that our motors move on accel/decel, you might get some thumpin' n' clunkin'
It's just a thought, and easily checked.

Hear is the bent fork
I think it may be what is causing my odd clutch behavior. I want to hear your stories.
My car won't go into gear oftentimes when started up and the car is cold. I can, however, put the car in a forward gear (not reverse though), and start the car up. Then the car will creep while in gear with the clutch pedal fully pressed. The engagement point for the clutch is seemingly below the bottom of the floorboard, although I can usually shift into a higher gear once the car is moving if I rev match and am patient enough to push it into gear. As everything warms up over 5 minutes or so, the clutch engagement point moves up a little higher away from the floor and eventually I can drive the car normally, although at best there might be a half inch of travel between the floor and the clutch engagement point. Then it all starts over again if the car sits long enough to cool off.
