Buying my first Audi
Someone I know is selling a 2000 Audi A4 2.8 Quattro for $1500. I figured this would be the place to go to find out with the vehicle is worth and if I am getting a fair price. I listed the known issues below. I dont need to know how to correct the codes as I have done some research on them already. Just want to know if it is a fair deal. Let me know if you need anymore details. Thanks.
Car Details:
Price: $1500
2000 A4 2.8L Quattro
134,000 Miles
Automatic Transmission
Leather Interior (Driver side seat ripped)
Bose sound package (Front speakers blown)
Problems with car besides cosmetic:
Exhaust leak at flex pipe between Cat. converter and heads
Engine Codes: P1392: Camshaft position sensor
P1423 / P1411: Secondary Air Injection System errors for
both banks.
P0301: Cylinder 1 misfire

With your lack of familiarity with Audi I would suggest locating a respected independent repair shop that specializes in older Audi. Pay them to give you an evaluation.

The price seesm fair. But that is because the car clearly need some work. If you took it to the dealer it would cost you as much as you paid for it, to fix it. Find a good independent shop like the guy before me said.
