<br>I'm approaching 400 miles on my '99 1.8t , and my baby is getting a lil dirty around the fenders;<br>I've heard things about the paint needing time to cure completely when the car is this new. I used to laugh at car wash specific soaps myself, always using dishwashing soap, shampoo, whatever was cheap. Then one time I bought a bottle of Zymol car wash. The bottom line is that it (and I'm sure many other car wash soaps) truly cleans without stripping your wax off of the car.<p>That's the only reason I can think of to use auto car washes. I won't go back to Palmolive!

Only when I want to make sure that the dirt on my car gets ground into the paint. I never use those things
