Found another split dust boot!!
The front lower control arm dust boot around the ball joint has torn....AGAIN!! Why do these damn things split so easily? Am I torquing down the nuts too tight! I'm using the Bentley Manuals torque setting? This is the third one up front I've found split after I've replaced it in June. Any tips on what I'm doing wrong? Or are the dust boots so s****ty from Audi?

Doubt it is torque-related. Is it always the same boot or are you possibly discovering tears that were there before and went unnoticed?
Are you driving in extreme conditions? Offroad?
Maybe try the febi arms. I installed a set in '09 and all seals still intact.
