Default Injector Wires: AEB Engine

Good Evening,
I have been working on my car a 1998 Audi A4 B5-AEB [5V non-turbo]Engine. Before pulling out my injectors to clean them I realized that I have ONE extra Injector Harness at the back of the Engine close to the Coolant Temperature Sensor. I checked most of the parts of the engine I do not see a slot for this wire. The MAF is plugged just for clarification. I had help from someone who kept saying it is for an air injector as he is assuming that someone replaced the air intake pipes and disconnected that injector harness, I'm not convinced. I will try to post a picture later but could what this person say is true? The car used to run normally but drops into safe mode if I aggressively floor the gas pedal.

Any insight on this extra Injector Harness. Just for further clarification, it does not look as if this was a bypass of any sort as these are original Audi tagged wires.
