Seriously looking at swapping a V8 40v into my B5 Avant. I've done some basic research. Looks like everyone doing this is swapping with a 5 or 6 speed manual.

Question is, I just had my tiptronic rebuilt a year ago. I've heard that HP rating for the tiptronic is approximately 350hp which should probably bolt right to the V8. Is this true? Also what motor mounts are needed?

If its the 5hp19 fitted to your b5, this was factory fit with some A6 V8's according to some specs I've read (All roads too I think).
Torque rating is probably more important than power rating on a gearbo.

Good point. I am not looking to totally mod this wagon, just create a cruiser. I thought it would be a shame to not utilize a fully rebuilt tiptronic ($2800 ) invested.
