Broke a rim today. I'd like to send out a big ***** U to the City of Chicago.
Jeezus, I mean, I haven't even moved in yet, and tonight I crack a rim on getting on 90 SBound from Lake. Just merged right and then WHAM!!!!!! The Cd player skipped for like 3 seconds and the car began to wobble. I checked in a parking lot with light later - sure enough the inside rim on the driver's side is cracked HARD. The rim is out of round by almost an inch in the affected spot. ****ty.
Oh well, I guess now is a good time to be glad I've got cheap rims.

Eventually you learn where the big holes are...
and you learn that construction means to drive very carefully as the **** they leave exposed is scary. Lost 5 tires the first 6 months I had my car. Makes you rethink the SUV folks choice a bit.

No not at all - I've taken some really hard hits before........
and LarryV had Lolas on his totalled A4 and they came out scratched but structurally intact. Jasyn had (has?) Lolas on his A4 in San Fran and has hit some major holes, with no problems.
The ridge I hit was about 3-4 inches high and sharp on the corner, so I doubt many rims would've survived. Maybe something forged, but certainly no cast rims.
