Abnormal engine sound of my BEX engine
Hi all,
I found the engine sound of my 2004 A4 (BEX engine) is abnormal recently.
Also, I have record the engine sound and attached in this thread.
Please give me any idea of my engine issue.

My guess - cam chain & tensioner.
I did the chain & tensioner on a 2.0 l engine recently. Sounded like a diesel before, (very similar to yours) but nice and quiet now. The hydraulic tensioner had failed, so I replaced the chain at the same time (you can get a kit from ECS and others for about $140 with gaskets etc).
