Hello I drive 2003 5-speed 1.8T (FWD) so two days ago my car starting flashing the CEL and the car was shaking slightly at low RPMs. Whenever I turned the car off then on and the CEL remained but wasn't flashing until about 2 minutes after driving off it starting flashing again. This morning I go and turn the car on and it doesn't start... it cranks but doesn't start. I just replaced the battery and alternator a week ago. Also spark plugs, ignition coils and the coil connectors were replaced around 8 months ago. Any help/advice is appreciated

Sounds more like an Engine Speed Sensor, also known as a Crank Position Sensor, but you won't know unless you download codes.
