Lost low beams/fogs, OK upon restart. 2003.
Well, this was unpleasant. Tonight, I was coming home from NYC, stopped for gas, and got back onto the parkway, the d-a-r-k parkway. I had lost both my low beams and my fogs. Pushing the switch in (fogs off) had no effect. Turning the switch off and back on had no effect. The high beams worked normally. I pulled over, switched off the non-lights, and turned the car off and back on. The lights worked normally, and continued through two start/stop cycles without issue.
The only abnormality prior to this event has been an occasional flickering of the fogs when the low beams are on. When this has happened, I pull the switch out (turning on the fogs), and then push it back in. The flickering has stopped.
I'm trying to figure out what has happened here. It seems there must be a problem with the switch, but why would turning the car off and back on effect it? The lights are not HID.
Thinking back on this, I can't say for sure whether I turned the high beams on or merely pulled back the turn signal lever to activate the highs.
Thanks.
