Default Is the multitronic learning the driving style?

Hello Guys,

I recently bought a 2003 Audi A4 (8E), 2.5 TDI with a multitronic gearbox.
As I noticed, when the engine is cold, the transmission keep the rev higher when it's warm.
But somewhere I read that it's also learning the driving style. Is it true or just an urban legend?

Yes they do have adaptive learning. But the holding the engine at a higher rpm until the engine is warmed up is totally normal, most transmission do this to warm the engine and cat converters up faster for emissions. Make sure you keep that CVT trans fluid changed every 55,000km

Thank you for the answer.
Yes, I thought that higher rpm when it's cold is normal, just wanted to make sure.
As regards the oil change, of course I will do it regularly.
