Default The Optima Red Top 75/35 does fit in the OEM location.

I took the car to Autozone before replacing the battery and had them test the OEM battery. They said it was still good, but I could tell the way the car was starting that it wasn't good for the starter. I replaced the OEM battery with the Red Top and the car starts so much better now.

The Optima Red Top fits in the OEM location with the OEM mounting hardware but since it's not as wide (transversely) as the OEM battery you need to secure it on the side so it cannot slide back and forth.

I used a self-tapping screw and nut, of which I screwed into the plastic mounting base. I'll fab up a metal bracket later to secure it better.

This is definitely a great upgrade. I wouldn't think of putting another OEM battery in my car. BTW, the battery I replaced was the 2nd OEM battery the car has been through.

Default about 12lbs lighter than the oem battery

i went with the Duralast (also from AutoZone)which is rated at 700 CCA and the same weight as yours. more juice, and cheaper too

Default Good find. The best fitment is the Red Top 35 due to the correctly oriented posts....

not forcing you to have to reverse mount the battery. That one also does away with the unnecessary dual posts. They all way about 34lbs compared to the B6 49lb battery (IIRC) and the B7 59lb battery. Here's my comparison...

http://www.audigeeks.com/forums/index.php?topic=904.0</a

Default the Duralast is a lead acid battery, right? hopefully the Optima will last a much longer time than

the OEM lead acid.
