Power window problems....
Hi all...new member here!!
I have a 2004 A4 3.0 liter. Absolutely love the car.
Recently started having problems with power windows.
Drivers door window is completely inoperative. I can control the other 3 windows from the master switch but not from the individual switches on the other doors. I replaced the drivers door window motor but that didn't help.
I had the car scannned and only relevant code that came up was 01559,"drivers door won't de safe". Seems like this is related to power locks not operating, but my locks work fine. I sure hope this is not some impossible to find electrical gremlin.
Any ideas would be appreciated!!
Thanks,
Mike

Could be the wire that powers the motor that goes through the door jamb or could be the switch for the driver's window. When you replaced the motor, did you check for voltage at the motor?

Never tried it, but you should be able to put a voltmeter directly into the connector at the motor, push the switch, and should see 12 v. If you don't, then the switch is bad or the wiring is broken in the door jamb which is a common issue on the B6.

I think its your windows switch, got the same problem with mine. There's a little hole below the windows switch on the arm rest, push on the hole with a small screw driver and your switch is gona come out. Open your switch very gently on a clean towel in a safe area because there is some very small part in it. Clean all electric contact with a fine sanding paper or fine stell wool, and back up all things and everythings should work just fine. You can also buy a new switch if you want.
Best luck
