Hey guys, Iv an 03 a4 1.9. I was out on during the week, had went to a car show and then done lifts for the mrs. Iv covered about 80 miles wen I stopped at a bar to let the girls have a few drinks while I waited. I shut the car off for about 45 mins, wen I tried to start it up again she wouldn't start and would make this aweful crunching noise, iv never heard a noise like that before. I'm self taught in a lot of things to do with cars but iv never came across it. Since then iv checked the timing belt and stripped the rocker of to check everything was ok. I checked the was moving flywheel. The starter was a bit awkward to get at but ruled it out as it was unlike any starter problem noise iv ever came across. Tbh it sounded like something grinding together internally. Up until that point it was driving 100%, had been all night. Anybody any ideas
