Hi Guys,

I have searched top to bottom for any information regarding my issue and have not found a thing, and I am hoping the B6 Guru's can chime in and help me out.

2005 Audi A4 3.0 Quattro with 6spd manual. Timing belt, water pump, plugs, valve cover all replaced this past winter.

At idle, only when the vehicle comes to normal operating temperature, do I notice a shimmy in the car. The RPM gauge remains perfect with no fluctuation at all. I replaced PCV valve and ensured all my vacuum lines were intact and no leaks anywhere. I have read that it may be a flywheel issue but it can't be because if it was mechanically, it would happen all the time. Now here's the kicker, if the vehicle reaches normal op temperature and the shimmy is present, all I have to do is turn on the A/C and the shimmy goes away entirely, or lessens to a degree where an average person can't feel it. As soon as I turn the A/C off, shimmy comes right back. Turning the A/C on has no visible fluctuation in the RPM needle; it remains constant.

I don't want to keep chasing this and throwing money at it in hopes of getting somewhere. VAGCOM scan displayed no issues or fault codes. Live monitor of the system at idle came back clean. No engine lights present, and the vehicle drives beautifully. Is this a common or know issue among the B6 3.0?

Have you checked engine mounts?

just out of curiosity is there any codes/cel. also do you notice a difference with a fresh oil change?

Although less probable than engine mounts, you might check the tranny mount as well.
