2.0T No crank, No Start was running fine
So, my car has been running great. I drove it to a friends house today and a few hours later went to start it and it turned over briefly before stopping. Then when I turned the key there was nothing. I thought for sure it was the battery. I tried to jump it and still nothing - no cranking, but the head lights are bright and everything else works. Tried tapping the starter with a hammer - nothing. So, is it the relay, the starter, solenoid or the ground wire? Weird that it cranked and then died. Anyone know how to remove the starter on these and where the relay is located for a 2006 audi A4 2.0T? Also I see the positive wire to the starter, but where is the negative? Any help is appreciated my car is stuck at my friends place 2 hrs away
Thanks!
Thanks!

HI.
The starter is earthed through the gearbox housing, so there is not an earth wire.
Check for a signal to the thin single black wire on the starter, it should receive a signal when the key is turned. If it does, then the starter is faulty, if not possibly ignition switch, which is where the signal comes from.
