2012 A4 with pcv vent valve diaphragm help needed
Just bought 2012 a4 2.0 and already got check engine light showing lean bank 1 code. Seems to be PCV unit, but I wanted to just replace the diaphragm using the dorman aftermarket diaphragm kit. I cannot get the plastic cover off. My father had a garage for many years but I'll be darned if I can get that thing off without breaking it. As a matter of fact I can't even get a tool in there to pry it off. Anyone have any tips on how to remove this PCV valve plastic cover? I assume this is the problem, as the oil cap is not removable during engine operation and also there seems to be vacuum on the bleeder on the cap.

There was actually an "Emissions Service Action 17F9" on this with some info here:
2.0T Gas Powered Cars- Recall
Perhaps you can get an Audi dealer to do it, even if you're out of warranty?
If not, then there are some instructions in post #54 of that thread.
I had mine done under warranty. At first they just replaced the diaphragm, but it didn't seal properly, the engine ran like crap and the check engine light came on the next day. So I took it back and they replaced the whole crankcase pressure regulating valve.

Thank you....! Now the only problem is waiting to get it to shop. Only car I have and worried about oil seal failure with all that vacuum!!! I have to drive it this way for a while!
