Hi, I'm about to purchase a 2011 A4 with stock 'concert' stereo. I agree with you completely. While I wouldn't say 'sucks' it's certainly not good. The mids hurt my ears.
Did you ever get a better system. I am not capable of doing the upgrade myself and I'm wondering how much it would cost to get a better system put in at one of those car stereo places. Btw, I also heard the bose system in an A4 and was not too impressed with that either.
