Hey guys. I'm new to the Audi world and am in the market for one. I have been looking at the b8.5 s4 because of the features and power that it pushes out, especially in a manual transmission. They might be a little over my price range right now, and that's made me look into getting a b8 a4. My question to you guys now is would it be more cost effective to get an a4 and to tune it to get it faster or to buy the s4 outright? Any feedback would be appreciated! Just wondering if I would still feel power and enjoy the a4 after a tune / other models since it's cheaper or if it would be easier to just get the s4 and enjoy the power from the start. Currently own a 2008 6 speed Acura TL type s.

Some of those B8s 2.0 were oil burners. My 2009 was but the 2012 was not. Audi fixed the 2009 after a year. Take an old man's advice and get the S4 even if you have to work overtime.

Only you can answer that question.

There is a lot more to an S4 if you look closely...but only you can tell if you want that stuff enough to pay for and live with it. If you are still considering it, take some time to read S4 fora, test drive, talk to an owner or two, and take a close look at the differences.

I drove an A5 recently while S4 was serviced. While nice enough, it's a very different car...tuned or not.
