Updated stats later this week. Great participation by B8 owners.
That said, with sample sizes larger is always better, so additional participants would be helpful.

We've updated the results for the B8 A4 to include owner experiences through March 31, 2010. In terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:
2010: 23, better than average; hope to post separate results for the S4 in August
2009: 66, about average
Thank you, once again, to this forum and everyone who has been participating. We'll have further updates in August and November. The more owners participate, the better the information we can provide to everyone.

We've updated the results for the B8 A4 and S4 to include owner experiences through September 30, 2010.
Other sources of car reliability information won't cover the months since April until the summer or even fall of next year.
Repair frequencies, in terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:
2010 A4: 39
2010 S4: 39
2009: 71
All are about average.
We have two additional statistics, "Nada-odds" and "Lemon-odds," to indicate the percentage of cars with no repairs in the past year and those that required 3+ trips to the repair shop.
With the B8 A4, the percentage with no repairs is 60 for the 2009 and 65 for the 2010, while the percentage with 3+ repair trips is about 4 for the 2009 and less than one for the 2010.

On closer look, I shouldn't have made that comment. Early on (the June 2009 results) the reported repair frequency for the 2009 was about 40, which is better, but it's been 60+ for the past year. I remembered the early results, but the shift higher occurred a year ago, not recently.

When you say "average" what is the A4 being compared to? Other cars in the same class or all cars?
I'm thinking of buying a 2011 A4 but am hesitant because of reliability issues.

All cars, and the "about" is there because the range is fairly broad. I'm not trying to split hairs.
With the A4 from 2005.5 on I don't see much to be concerned about if you can manage a repair once every year or two. They've been requiring far fewer repairs than older Audis.
The "nada-odds" might be clearer. This indicates that 60% of 2009 owners and 65% of 2011 owners have had zero repairs in the past year.
