CPO question(s)
Hi all- I recently (~1 month ago) bought a 2009 A4 Avant Prest-w/49K miles; it was bought from a Lexus dealership in MD. Got a crazy deal: low miles + 1 owner + clean CF + great price = win 4 me. After a few days, I noticed an Audi folder with info about the CPO program and it appears the previous owner had certified the car. CF seems to back that up also. I did some general research on AUDIUSA.com and it appears that for a fee the warranty is transferable (199 or 250$, If i recall). My Q is: does the previous owner have to initiate that tranfer; or Can i goto my local Audi dealership and give them the docs I found in the car, pay fee and continue coverage? Selling dealer said they wont be able to help me certify the car since it's a different brand. I would consider buying a cpo plan since i got a great saving on the car, but if an existing plan is "techincally active", why pay again? That is money earmarked for mods--ha, ha, ha!
Any suggestion on how to best approach a dealer; and any recommendation on a reasonable dearlership in NY/NJ area??
TIA, D

A 15 second Google search provided the transfer form that answers your questions. Both parties must fill out the info, sign and have it notarized. $150 fee.
