I have this intermittent problem on my 09 Avant. Just wondering if anyone else has the same problem? I did not find any other threads.

I just tap it back, but it's pain, and it is a nuisance to take into the dealer for such a small issue.

Note that U.S. '09 A4's do not have the headlight washer feature so any response would have to come from other countries.

I have the washers but not that problem. Get it fixed. The risk is that with the gap that's caused, wind chill on the front could freeze it up. Then you try and use it and it blows the pipes off giving you a bigger issue.

Good point, although we regularly get to minus 30 C here (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada) so we only use minus 40 washer fluid.

Still, all that road dirt in the open door can't be a good thing.

This is a known issue at least in Northern europe where I live. Some guys have had this problem and the dealers are also aware of the problem. They know (or at least they should know) how to fix it. Some material needs to be cut out from the washer door hinge, as far as I remember what the problem source is.

i have a dealer loaner, a black 09 A4 2.0TQ Premium with Tech -- yeah, the washer doors got stuck open. It looks like the sprayers got stuck trying to retract over the washer doors, so i just gave it a quick jimmy and it went back in

I know this is old, but is there some info on what needs to be filed and how?
Mine get stuck open every time. Both of them.
