Lumbar support

Lumbar support
I have a 2011 S4 with Alcantara and leather seats. The lumbar support
when I put it all the way flat is still stabbing me in the back. Honestly
these are the most uncomfortable seats ever. I didn't notice it at first during
my short test drive. Now I do on my 2 hour a day commute. The car went in for
service and they told me this is normal. The loaner A3 they gave me the lumbar went completely
flat. Also every car I have owned in the past went flat as well.
Anyone else experience this?
Thanks.

I have the same problem. I bought the car 2 months ago and I'm havig lower back pain since then.
I also went to the dealer and they can't do nothing about it.
I also removed the black platic cover in the back of the seat and their is nothing you can do to to the mechanism.
I love the car but this makes me want to get rid of it.

I'm having lower back pain too. The dealer tech is looking into it further
to see if there is any adjustments. I sat in a 2011 on the showroom floor
and to me it felt better than my car. I'm going to push this issue to the
end. I want a new seat. Go test another S4 seat to see.

Unfortunately there's no seat that's right for everyone. I was having problems with my seat too when I first got it, but now I got it adjusted perfectly. At the worst scenerio there's always aftermarket seats. Not the cheapest thing but will make you look like a serious racer!

Try leaning the seat back just a bit more or moving the lumbar up or down. Mine is the same way, it won't go totally flat and I could SWEAR it did when I first picked it up. My M3 seats were FAR easier to adjust and much more comfortable.

I'm going to try this: I removed the two brackets from the lumbar support.
You just have to pry from the top of the bracket until it pops out from the lumbar support mechanism. I'm going to try this for a week and reply back if my back feels in shape again.

I tried the seat last night and its a little bit too much without the two brackets... haha. So I ended up, putting the brackets back with a little less tension.
Diy
Step 1
Remove the cover:
Start by pulling on each side you can see the 4 red circles those are easy to pull.
Then push the two at the bottom up, they are circled in blue. By moving the cover upward they will eventually unclip. You can also push them with a flat screwdriver to help them unclip.
Then pull the cover down.
Close up of the lower clip
Step 2
Then pry on the two metal brackets, they are seated in the white plastic piece.
Step 3
Pry back the brackets so they have less tension on your back. Make sure the two brackets are equal and compare them to each other: more pressure on one side will still give you back pain.
This picture is to compare stock to my modified one. Do the same thing to compare both brackets after the modification.
Then reinstall the two brackets and test it before putting the cover back.
