Mac guys might find that even with Java installed, the jnlp file just sits in the downloads folder. Double-click to open it and the download will start.

Same for non-Mac guys too. You need java and you need to run the file that you downloaded.

i upgraded over the air, just my region.

it was a good thing that i obsessively and quickly did this process too. because i almost forgot how to get to the job i've been traveling to for the last 8 years, in the city i've been living in for the last 11 years.

My car gave me a notice this morning that there was an update, and I clicked the update now notice, and it appeared to update it while I was driving to work. I am not sure if there is anything else that I need to do at this point.

You'll be able to update only for your region. You won't get maps for all of America or something.

When I drove the car this morning, it gave me a notice that the maps had been updated.

Since I probably will never drive it outside of California, that should not be a problem.

I'm having the same problem - it's downloading at 240 Kb/s and I'm on a very fast, high bandwidth internet connection. AoA needs to do something about the server. At this rate, it will be time to download a new map by the time this one finishes. Not acceptable!

So the files finally downloaded (5 hours over a high-speed FiOS connection) and I have two folders labeled Mib1 and Mib2. I copied them onto an SD card and inserted it into the slot. When I attempt to update, the MMI tells me there is no information on the SD card. What am I missing? The owner's manual has no information on updating from an SD.
