High tech or bling?
Question - at what point is too much "tech" and bordering on bling on the newer cars. I could be off base here and end up loving it, but the interior lighting color changes in the A4 prestige red to blue to white, for example. Is there appoint when literally too many bells and whistles detract from the driving experience?

On this specific issue, I think it is more of a "why not." I believe the interior lights are LEDs and it is seems easy to have color changing LED lights. I know I run strip LEDs in my office and have a remote that lets me change the colors and brightness and those were rather cheap. So in this case, I can see them adding it just because it is already there and likely added almost nothing to the cost. The return seems like a good bet sense if someone doesn't care about it, I doubt they'll knock Audi for it, but if someone does like, then it is a plus for them.

It also has to do with competition, the options in the A4 are meant to draw buyers from other brands "oh, Mercedes can only change to 3 colors and has a good interior" and Audi responded with an improved vehicle. These are things that are already in competing models that Audi took to the next level.
