Default :( the vibration came back!!!!!

It was okay then after a week the vibration came back. Im sorry to report that after 5 attempts to correct the problem, my New2017 Audi A3 Prestige + Sport Pkg. still vibrates. I brought the car back for the 6th time and took the service manager for a vibrating ride. The dealer just told me that "THE VIBRATION IS NORMAL AND THAT HIS S3 ALSO VIBRATES AT CERTAIN SPEEDS." I find that answer unbelievable. He also said that the upgraded suspension is more similar to the S3 and that the vibration is normal and acceptable and he cannot find anything wrong with the car.

I will now unfortunately need to use the Lemon Law in NY to return my car to Audi. What a horrible experience!

Do let us know how it goes. And I HATE it when dealers claim stuff is normal. I mean. In India, one cannot expect anything from the A.S.S dept. But here? No sorry. I will not buy that claim.

Update:

I got the car back today, after almost three weeks at the dealer. The engineer they had come in basically showed the techs how to properly use their road-force balancing machine -_-. They were not spinning the tire on the wheel to align the high/low and a couple other things I guess. They rebalanced each of the new Michelin's and so far the vibration seems to have disappeared. I'll update this thread if it comes back.

Another update: Thursday, a tech. Specialist from Audi will try to fix my car, this will be the 7th attempt to fix the vibration. The reason I am giving them another chance is the hopes that the dealer simply may be using the road force machine incorrectly (per previous post) and also the car is very beautiful... would hate to get rid of it using the New York lemon law.

Good luck! I really hope they determine what's going on with your car and fix it for you. I know how much of a pain this issue is. In my case, the dealer techs definitely didn't know how to properly balance the wheels, and when I had asked during previous visits if they had rotated the tire on the wheel and such they answered "of course". It gets frustrating for sure but hang in there and keep fingers crossed.

The Audi tech said I have 4 bent rims, (unbelievable!) I am extremely puzzled! I have not hit any potholes or curbs and the only other people who drove my car or worked on my wheels are the people at the dealership.... ;/

The service department said Audi is putting on 4 new wheels and not charging me, which makes me both happy and concerned. Are the wheels defective or is there a problem at the dealer?

I just had something similar on my A4 B9. Shuddering right around 100km/h.

Turns out the front passenger (front left) rim was buckled despite the relatively light cosmetic damage. The lip was moving around by about 2cm when rotated on the balancer. However, there actually was a reason for mine as something must have struck the inner lip some months ago.

The dealer sent some photos over. What was strange was the direction the tyre lip was cut from going from the sidewall damage. Sadly not covered.

All four??? That's unusual, but as long as they are being replaced w/o charge that's good. Hopefully that'll fix your issue!

I hope you are back on the road with a smooth ride! The problem with my new car is that there were no signs of any damage and that the dealer kept telling me the vibrations were normal! Finally Audi sent a tech to the dealer who hopefully found the problem. I should get my car back in a day or so, hopefully without the vibration!!!
