I agree, good call. Classy...

How does tinting affect night visibility?

Night vision is very important to me and I've noticed very little effect with the %'s that I've used.

Ok, to be clear, you don't tint the windshield, correct?
Cost for the tint?

Correct, I don't tint the windshield. Side and rear only. Costs vary by brand and somewhat by region and installer. Prices could run $200-$400 depending on these factors.

With my current 35% tint, it isn't bad. In fact, it is actually beneficial because my eyes are very sensitive to light and the tint reduces the glare from headlights in my back window. In the past, however, I had a 25% tint and that did darken the back window enough to compromise night vision.

I have 20% on all windows but the windshield, and you can still see inside the car during the day. My car is Manhattan Grey, but I think it looks good with 20%, there is still enough transparency that police won't bother you but it gives a dark look.

The really best result is equal tinting all around. Darker in back makes it less appealing...

If it wasn't for the law I'd just get 35% all around. The other option is to do 70% on the sides (front/rear side windows) and dark in the back window only. I dont really like the look of light and dark windows side by side, but 70% is way too light. What are people getting in states with tinting laws?
Just wanted to add that my windows already came with some amount of "tint", ~70% according to my tint shop. I can't confirm the % or that all of our cars come this way. Its just something you may want to adjust for. This was why I went with 55%.
Also, if you click on my photos above you will get a higher res image. I'm not sure how to embed the photos without creating an attachment.
