Default 2013 A6 LED Headlights v HID Headlights

Is the difference between the light of the 2013 A6 LED headlights worth the $1,400 cost over the HID Headlights and if an element goes out on the LED Headlights, can it be replaced or does the whole headlight assembly have to be changed?

The LED lights have a much, much better appearance when the lights are on and when they are off. Audi designs the lights as a big part of the lines of the car. Trust me, not your normal headlight upgrade. Highly recommended.

I asked the same question about a month ago before I bought my A6 and based on all the positive replies, I went with the LED and I am so happy that I did. I haven't driven an A6 with the HID lights but I can't imagine that they could compare to the LED's at night. They really light up the road. It's not just the area they cover, but the quality of the light. Truly impressive. I would get them again in a heartbeat.

The LED strip is designed as an integrated unit and like LED tail lights, must be replaced as such.

That said, LEDs should outlast the car.

Totally agree. They're awesome. And I specifically asked about LED failure and it's covered under warranty.
