I think the 3.0 is unquestionably faster than the 2.0 (as would an S6 be compared to the 3.0), but not enough to make me spend more money for that speed. I tend to stay at or close to posted speed limits and I rarely have anyone in the car with me. I don't really notice turbo lag in my 2.0 probably for the same reason: I don't mash the loud pedal. Another factor I must admit to is that I find it fun to tell people that it is "only" a four cylinder engine in such a big, lovely car; sometimes they do not believe it. I feel it gives me "bragging rights" in terms of tree-huggers I talk to - lol
Thanks!

I was looking at the 2016 Order Guide and it seems that (for the US at least) only the A6 gets the 2.0 tuned to 252 HP. The other Audi models I checked with the 2.0 are at 220 HP. Interesting.

Although Yes, one pays more up front for the 3.0 vs the 2.0, I wonder what the depreciation and resale value differences will be in a few years down the road (especially with the marginal difference in mpg)? I was averaging 30 mpg yesterday on a short highway drive in my 3.0.

Yes, I noticed that too. Probably the next A4 and Q5 will get the updated engine.

" I lease, so I saw the cost difference (P+ 2.0 vs. 3.0) upfront before I decided which to get."
The monthly payment difference between the 2.0 and 3.0 models is a lot less than what I thought. Unfortunately, the negative equity of my current lease is too high and I do not want to roll it over to the new lease. Will have to wait a few months...

I suspect the 3.0 might be better in having better (less) deprecaiiion than the 2.0, except that Prestige verions really lose a lot of value compared to Premium Plus, or so my dealer has told me. I lease, so I saw the cost difference (P+ 2.0 vs. 3.0) upfront before I decided which to get.

According to the ALG residual calculator the three year residual value for the Premium Plus (the only version available with all 3 engines) are as follows: TDI 52%, 2.0 49%, 3.0 48%. http://www.cars.com/go/alg/index.jsp...e=A6&year=2014
