I had the same problem when my car reached 50k miles. Luckily the dealer was nice enough to replace the temperature sensor with warranty even though I was a couple of miles over 50k.

I bought my 2012 A6 a couple weeks ago. When I played with settings at that time I saw that AC Mode menu option was there. A few days ago I was going to change this setting and I could not find it anymore. I checked my manual and the manual says it should be there, but it's not. No mods are done to the car. I'm wondering if this menu availability is subject to some other settings, but I can't figure it out. Strange...

Raven8906,
The same exact thing happen to my A7. Do you remember what the dealership's solution was?

Can you please provide the part number? I'm trying to DIY instead of waiting for the useless dealership.

I had our trusty indy do it but I still have the paperwork and will try to look later and see if there is a part number on it.

Does anyone have a diagram showing the location of the sensor? Online searches are giving me conflicting information.

The first warm season after I got my current 2013 A6 2.0 P+ I noticed that in order to get the temperature to feel as comfortable as I normally like it, I have to set it lower (in terms of the indicated degrees) than on my previous 3 Audi’s. I used to leave it at 72 all the time. With the ’13 A6 I leave it at 68, and occasionally I notice warmish air coming from the right side, though it goes away after a while – perhaps just part of the automatic process. Anyway, I thought I’d mention it.
I have exactly the same issue with my 2016 A6 2.0, in the summer i have to set it to 68 to get the same level of comfort I had with my previous cars on 72. Now its winter same issue 5-10 degress over my preferred temp which is 72 to get hot air, once the car warms up I wont get hot air unless i turn it up all the time.

The system temp sensor seems to be 5-9 degrees off, not sure if thats the case with all 2.0 A6 or just mine. Please norw that the 2.0 have a stripped down AC module with no temp screen and no MMI integration, just a manual temp ****.

I'm having the same problem with with my A6 12 reg, I've taken it to Audi and they haven't fix the problem or tell me whats wrong with it. i've forgot to mention there's no light on the dash.

On July 2014, Audi did:

"perform Campaign 87D9" replace pressure sensor and seal:

4H0-959-126-A Pressure sensor
7H0-820-896 seal ring

Default Not sure if anyone is still looking at this thread...

I have the same issue on my 2012 A7. AC ice cold - left the car running in the driveway to drop groceries inside, came back out and the fan is just blowing ambient air/compressor not engaging. Researched and found the common issue with the pressure switch and decided to go for it as everything else checked out. $90 for the part, dealer quoted me minimum 2 hours of labor (assuming due to bumper removal)...literally took 4 minutes, the sensor is under the front plastic cover. My 10 year old daughter could do it while watching fortnite videos on YouTube
