The question is...should I give up the auto dimming for blind spot mirror (caz there is NO WAY I am spending $1000 on some mirrors LOL)

Stand by... I've been researching and may have possibly found a cheaper solution. Just verifying that the sources I found are indeed heated AND auto-dimming. Personally, I'm not one to settle. I should know by next week.

Nice. Our '16 TE Odyssey has a mirror like this with the line and time warp like look when on the edge. It's pretty nice and handy.

My one lead for cheaper part was a bust. it was cheaper only because it was like most, just heated but not auto dimming.

However, my search for a passenger ashperical mirror did yield some results. I am selling my driver side aspherical heated & auto-dimming mirror since I just ordered another used set I found.

I needed right side mirror but could only find a coupled set so I now have an extra driver side mirror, and could use the money go help pay for half of my new order.

I figured I'd let you guys know first before I post it for sale elsewhere. PM me if youre interested. Asking $210+ shipping for driver side mirror.

My 0.02 on this matter... on my last vehicle i was quick to get the OEM mirrors with aspherical section just like this one. It is an essential upgrade and very safe as well for lane changes. Others who drove my car found it difficult to adjust as they got a bit of nausea.

Now onto the A6 and aspherical, i would love to do this mod but i think having side assists this mod is somewhat redundant.

If i go into a situation where i have to replace my mirrors i will jump on these ones.

Thanks OP for the information, will be helpful to many.

Great points. I can definitely concur that at first time use.. the aspherical mirrors are very dissorienting. But after two-three days I got used to them and loved the "Bionic view". Now that I've removed it I am definitely feeling spoiled while using it.

Yes side assist helps for same purpose, but my thought is you can never be too safe. Although the lane assist indicator warns us... the aspherical mirrors provide the reassuring view as extra measure. I rather see with my own eyes as extra reassurance than just rely on only indicator warning.

These mirrors with Auto-dimming option are very hard to come by and very expensive from my research... so I jumped to buy my used set last night.
EXTRA BONUS... There was another set recently added so I bought the second set if anyone is interested (impulse buy). This way I can split the international cost with anybody interested in a set of these.

Will list this extra set for sale once received. $210 was my average cost for each mirror + shipping.

I was unable to find US supplier. Part numbers finally verified.... 4G0857535E + 4G0857536E

Very nice. As for aspherical mirrors and blindspot detection, our '12 Odyssey had blindspot detection, and the '16 had the aspherical mirrors and kept the blindspot detection too. I'm not sure I need to drop $450 for them, but they are pretty nice.

Ha! Well I hope to find at least one person that disagrees with you other than me.
Otherwise I'll be stuck with an extra set that I bought. Would serve me right if I get stuck with extra set so I learn to not be so willing to pay it forward, and stop trying to help others huh?

These appear to be very hard to find units at good price.
Of course, if $210 is too expensive... then maybe regular price of $500 for new units is preferred?

Guess we'll see soon enough. DOH!
