I normally drive in automatic mode for the engine. One of my favorite features on my new 2016 Sport S6, pull shifter down & it's in dynamic (S-mode) the exhaust also gets more aggressive (burbling and popping). It then holds the gear in the S-mode (dynamic).

After the VAGCOM fix to display the gear in the DIS, it is easy to tell, if it is in the S-mode (and which gear).

Yes! Moding it this weekend. I really really missed this feature. With the convenience mod on my C5 & C6 the pinch safety worked. Glad I can still have it. BTW, is the process the same?

Does anyone know how to make the MMI screen stay up all the time, even when the car has been turned off?

I saw a silver A6 C7 at the McDonalds parking lot the other day and when I walked by it, I immidietely noticed that the screen was up, but black. There was no one in the car.

As far as I know, this isn't possible? Or is it, and how? I have VCDS.

To the best of my knowledge it's not possible, and if I am wrong its guaranteed I'll be corrected. My guess is the screen was stuck in the deployed position.

You are correct. In the five years since the C7 Forum was created, I've not seen a solution to either permanently have it stay up or down unless the screen mechanism was defective.

Not sure whether wiring would be similar to that in A8, but dvs_dave posted a wiring diagram 2-29-2016 demonstrating where to insert a switch to that when switch is in "off" position, the MMI screen will remain in position (open or closed, depending on preference). Thread title is:MMI Screen auto open/close disable

Interesting, although we are drifting quite aways from the "Hidden Gems" thread.

I was cleaning the car for a show tomorrow and I discovered that the trunk carpet is easily removable in the 2012 A7. Fold the rear seat down and you'll see two snaps similar to the those on the floor mats. Pop them off and the whole thing can be removed.
