At the last minute before turning in my 09 A4 trade, I remembered to remove the cargo net from the trunk and tossed it in my 13 A6. Fits perfectly. Used in conjunction with the A6 trunk hooks, it can keep a lot of stuff in place.

I negotiated the cargo net and Audi rubber winter mats in my deal. That gave me the smaller cheaper one. I didn't realize that there were two models, and I too said to myself that the smaller net seemed kinda too tight to hold anything other than low profile box. If at the very least, it finishes the trunk nicely. My Lexus had two nets. One in the floor and one up against the rear. One thing k feel like Audi could have done a little better would have been to out a proper carpet May in the trunk. As an aside, the carpet mats inside are a joke for a car of this caliber. I will look into something more plush in the spring, like Lloyd luxe mats. When I took the mats out of my newly acquired a6, I was shocked at the paper thin mats. Simply shameful.

Our incoming 2016 A6 includes the high end rubber mats. I hate rubber mats, mostly because I am a manual guy and am used to sliding my foot to operate the clutch and they interfere with that. More than that though, no matter how nice they are, they still seem cheap to me. Anyway, the A6 will be my wife's car and it is obviously automatic. Our build also includes the cargo net. I have a few others as well, I saved them from all of our previous cars. Never know when they might come in handy.

The Audi OEM rubber mats are horrible. They do not come with any type of lip on the sides. As a result, the water from melting snow, etc on the bottom of your shoes eventually rolls off the mats and gets trapped under the mat and creates a mold and mildew issue in the carpeting. I dealt with them for one winter season in the NYC area and switched to Wintertech for my winter mats. The Audi mats are not high end.

That is not good. Ugly and not functional. Sounds like I am going to have to ditch them for something else. Thanks for the heads up.

BTW, did in 13 or 14 the OEM all weather mats for the S6 just say A6? Mine just says this, but I know they now say S6.

Well, I'm not impressed with the cargo net situation. Here's my correspondence with my dealer thus far:

The cargo net I was given from the dealership the other day was this one:

Cargo Net | Genuine Audi | 8E5-861-869-A-MRY

Unfortunately it's rather tight, and a normal sized grocery bag doesn't fit underneath it because it's so tight. I'm wondering if it's because that cargo net is for smaller trunks. Looks like this cargo net is the one for the 2016 A6:

Cargo Net | Genuine Audi | 4G5-861-869-9B9

Do you folks have this cargo net?
We don’t have any of those in stock, and parts department actually said that’s a really good price, because they charge $235, so they would recommend you to order it from there if it is :-)
Do you know if that one fits my car?

I'm also concerned about the price. When I go to audiusa.com and build a 2016 A6, it lists in the optional accessories that the cargo net is $130. But the dealership charges $235? Why can't I buy one for the advertised price? And does this mean the dealership is more expensive in general?

Also, we're talking about a piece of stretchy netting with some plastic hooks here. $130 for this is already a bit outlandish. $235 is just embarrassing. What's up with the runaway prices for cargo nets?
