Default HVAC Controls

Wondering if anyone can help me out:

2016 A6. If I set the seat heater and HVAC to defrost at a certain temperature/fan speed, when I start the car, it kicks to vent and the fan speed at 1.

If I use my remote start, sometimes it doesn't even kick on at all!!!

Had no issues running the AC in the summer. It's awesome to start the car remotely and walk into a cool/warm car.

Wondering if anyone knows why this is happening.
Thanks in advance.

That doesn't make sense if it works with the A/C. When I first got my remote I had a similar situation. It seems to me that all I had to do was use the Audi OEM fob to lock the car and then the remote would use the saved settings when I started the car with the remote.

It doesn't make sense. I use the Audi remote to lock the car. It's annoying. I installed a remote start b/c my car gets parked outside and it saves me time in the AM.

Just for the heck of it try locking the car using the lock on the door handle and see if your settings are correct when you start the car with the remote. I seem to remember having to fuss with the way I did things at the beginning of last winter to get my settings "to stick" and then all was good.

I did some testing to refresh my memory on how I got mine to keep the settings when using the remote starter.

For me I need to lock the doors with the Audi FOB, then when I use the remote to start the car it will use the settings that were in place when I shut the car off. Example: temperature set to 72 degrees, seat heat set to level 2, heated steering wheel on.

If I use the button on the door handle to lock the car then when I use the remote to start the car my settings are not implemented when the car starts up.

I'm not sure if this is helpful but figured I'd try!

Thanks-I'm going to experiment tonight and see what happens in the AM. I'll keep you posted.

Which remote starter do you have?

I've given up. No rhyme or reason. During the summer wherever I left the settings, that's where they would be when I turned the car on. Now, it's crapshoot. This AM when I started seat heater was on 1 (I set at 3), thermostat was 81 on low (I set at speed 8 and Hi).

This afternoon I started the car manually. Left at 80 with seat heater at 1. Started the car, fan was at 68 vent and no seat heat. Bizarre.
