New Conti DWS 06 tires. Anyone have these yet?

I've been reading about the new Conti DWS 06 and the info looks very promising. According to TireRack and the Conti description, they have improved the DWS in treadlife, fuel economy and most importantly, handling performance. I had the DWS on my former A4 and while I was happy with the ride comfort, performance in light snow and rain, I felt the turn in was soft due to the relatively weak sidewalls. If the descriptions are accurate, it appears that Conti has resolved that shortcoming.

Has anyone purchased a set of these yet and if so, can you provide some feedback?

Recently installed a set of of DWS 06 tires. Have the 19 inch sport package car. Wow! Markedly better that then the Toyo Proxes 4 plus tires that were on it at purchase. I read the positive reviews on the prior version of the Conti Extreme Contacts and I can say the new versions do not disappoint. Really brings the performance up to what I was looking for in a sport package car. Nice noise control and grip too. Tires (and maybe Quattro system) have been amazing in the rainstorms we have had. I debated about buying such a new tire, but initial reviews have been good and I wholeheartedly endorse after several hundred miles. Tire rack has them at $200 a tire and Conti has a $70 rebate on.

Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately, the $70 gift card offer expired today. There will probably be something else before long.
These tires do look good on paper. I'm wondering if anyone had DWS and bought these.

I just got them a couple weeks ago on my A4, so I don't have a lot of experience with them yet. But they are definitely less harsh than the previous Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus I had before, yet seem to have equal or better steering response. I have 255/35-19, and the Michelins would ring over abrupt bumps, like expansion joints. The DWS06 have made these low profile tires much more tolerable, without feeling like I'm giving up any performance, and maybe even improving it. Just judging from reviews, I expect the Michelin A/S 3 may edge out the DWS06 in dry performance, but I bet the DWS will meet or exceed in all other aspects, with lower cost and probably better tread life (based on reports of poor tread life in many of the long term AS3 reviews).

Sorry, I can't compare to the previous DWS.

I had the older DWS a couple years ago and can tell you they were AWESOME. When the time comes for new tires I will definitely be looking into DWS again.

As I mentioned in my OP, I too had the DWS on my A4. What we're looking at here is the new DWS 06 which as reviews would suggest, seems to be an improvement in many ways over the DWS, especially the soft sidewall cornering response which was the one disappointment I had with the original.
