Default order tracking? now at 11 weeks...

Hi all,

Back in the middle of August I placed an order for a 2015 A6. At the time, I was told the car would arrive somewhere between the middle to end of October. I was never issued a tracking number, order number, or anything of the sort.

Roughly 6 weeks after placing the order, I stopped by the dealership to get a status update. Sales guy says the "inventory manager" is not in; he'll call me back in two days. Two days pass, no return phone call. I figure...we've still probably another 3 weeks before the car has any possibility of arriving...forget it, I'll wait. So...

I wait 3 more weeks and call back (now at 9 weeks). Sales guy says "inventory manager" is not in, again. All he can see is that the car was moved from end of October to early November on the board in their office.

Still no order number. I currently have no confidence the car will actually arrive in early November, and I'm beginning to think the order was not actually placed when they say it was.

Now currently at just about 11 weeks with no status updates whatsoever.

Are there any Audi employees lurking here that are able to search for an order by last name or something? I know there are many folks here whose dealers are able to provide them with fine grain order tracking, and in most cases even the boat the car was shipped on. Can anyone help?

Default Had to cancel

2 years ago this Oct. I placed an order for a TT. I too never received any useful information as I waited for the car. I cancelled in January after waiting for 15 weeks. I hope you have better luck but I would not be optimistic.

Pathetic. UPS can track a ball point pen from Japan to Australia, but a dealer can't find a $60,000. car. Pathetic.

Any reasonable skilled sales guy can see the order details at any given time in his computer.

Amazon can text me when a $2 item I ordered left the warehouse, and when its delivered, I can also watch each step of its delivery process. Dominoes lets me track a freaking pizza as its made to its delivery. CVS texts me when a prescription is ready for pickup. Audi can't figure out how to send at least email alerts with an orders updates? That's almost as hilarious as them not being able to put pdf's of user manuals online. So many things I love about this brand, but so many easily fixed items they ignore.

As far as your particular situation I would call in and ask for the GM. Tell him what your experience has been and see if he can clear it up. If he can't satisfy you I would call AoA and let them know what's going on. With the money you are spending you deserve much better.

I received an email every week from my salesperson updating the status of the car.
