Default Plastic Tire Valve Caps?

I picked up my 2016 A6 Prestige a few weeks ago from the dealer. When I checked the tire pressure a few days after I brought the car home I found it had plastic tire valve caps. I was very surprised, this is my fourth Audi, my 2005.5 A4, 2006 A4 and 2012 A6 Premium+ all had metal valve caps with the Audi logo on them.

My dealer transported the car from another dealer about 350 miles away. I am wondering if someone might have switched out the valve caps some where along the way.

Has anybody else gotten a 2016 A6 with plastic tire valve caps?

Maybe a US thing but can't recall any of my Audi (97 A4, 00 A6, 03 A6, 09 A6 or 12 A6) having metal tyre caps and certainly not ones with Audi logos on them

None of my U.S. Audis came with the fancy metal, logo caps. Did buy a couple of sets in the past but since have not bothered. I think the plastic ones work fine and might even make wheel balancing easier.

Not only that, but you must grease them with Vaseline or some such or they will be impossible to remove. I had them, but am very happy with the plastic variety.

Mine appear to be metal (matte finish) with plastic interior/insert. I believe this was the case with my 20101 A6 as well.

All 3 of my Audi's since 2008 have come from the dealer with the god-awful plastic green valve stem covers (indicating nitrogen filled), which I promptly swapped out - these are the caps I'm using now:

That must of been a dealer installed little perk you got on prior Audi's ... were they all from the same dealer.... anyway the solution is easy and no big deal ... buy a set of labeled Audi caps which they surely have at your dealer or online. The have several varieties and one I got has small bit of black carbon fiber material in the end of the cap with the 4 rings logo in white on top and with aluminum bodies.
