I ran a really basic (hand held ipod stopwatch) 0-60 run this morning, on a very slight downhill, but with the Thule ski box on the roof, and saw 6.4 seconds. I'll try it again tomorrow on a different piece of road, if it's not snowing, which it's supposed to be.

I can't say with any kind of experience either way. I generally don't like to pay extra for warranties on new vehicles, especially if the cost of the warranty exceeds what I can do the work for myself..

So far in our "normal" driving we're getting around 30mpg on average, including a fair bit of stationary idling due to cold etc. Also we're most certainly enjoying the thrust from the TDI engine, so not hypermiling by any stretch of the imagination.
by comparison, we'd probably see mid to low 20s with a 333hp trim 3.0T engine in the same driving.
In all fairness, we'd need to conduct back to back tests in the same weather and conditions. The last 333hp A6 we tested was in much warmer weather, and temperature has a huge impact on fuel mileage.

I think my question is best suited here.
Reviewing my fuel economy on fuelly, I'm getting an average of 9.5 L/100km or 24.74 US MPG (lifetime of the car):
https://www.fuelly.com/driver/superf...tro?fu=6066776
My driving style is "spirited" but not crazy. I love the tq of the diesel and tend to "enjoy" it's pull on the highway and around town, but I don't hammer it and do too many silly things that might be associated with lower fuel economy - at least I don't think so. Most of my trips are 8-15km, and most of the time, when I start off again, the car has been sitting for an hour or so in this never ending winter weather. In the mornings, I will idle the car for about a minute, and then set off. The car gets to operating temperature (judging by the redline on the tach) about 3/4 of my journey to work. The split between highway and city driving is 35/65%.
I'm curious what kind of mpg did you guys get when testing your TDI. Also, 9.5L/100km or 24.74US MPG seems lower than some other people have reported, and lower than Audi has advertised.
Keep in mind, these are actual fuel economy figures, not what is displayed on the computer.
On the bright side, my best was 6.8L/100km or 35mpg - calculated. I have seen the onboard computer display 5.3L/100km or 44mpg on a highway trip once
Any other TDIs feel free to chime in.
Thanks

I am seeing about 30 US mpg driving around town with Start/Stop enabled. I went to San Diego and back on a marathon trip and averaged 36.7 calculated, but that was very little city driving. With combined when I run it on the freeways I will see near 33, but mostly 32-32.5. when the A/C is running it goes lower, but only by a couple tenths. Rarely do I achieve anything in the mid 20s, but like I said, 29-31 is my average for an 80/20 city/highway tank (with A/C--AZ had no winter!)
