2.7T rough Rotor
I have a 2001 2.7T A6 manual transmission. Whenever I engage the clutch to move forward I hear and feel a rubbing sound coming from the driver side wheel. Is this a WD 40 fix? or what could be going wrong?

Nothing in the brake system is a "WD 40" fix. You could have a stuck piston in the caliper or a bad wheel bearing.

For sure nothing is a WD-40 fix. And WD40 is not a lubricant anyway.
Get car in air, securely, poke around. Find problem. Many such noises are not a concern - rust on rotors (goes away with use); brake shields that are slightly bent, rock caught between shield and rotor.
Beyond that one must consider CVs and wheel bearings, but neither typically sounds as you describe.
From your question, you might want more seasoned help looking it over.
