Default ECU error

I have an ECU Error in my gearbox (I had a person scan it with his scanner)

Engine keeps on trying to start but never ticks over..

Is there any way of resetting ECU or disabling ?

I need to car to start !!

Need much more information
1) Year, model, engine, transmission
2) Exactly what ECU error in the gearbox
3) Where are you located?
4) Do you have VCDS cable?
5) Do you have Bentley Manuals for your car?

If you are getting a code from the ECU, let us know. We might be able to search for a solution. Without the code, it's just a stab in the dark.

It doesnt know what gear its put itself it will keeping it from starting. The computer for the transmission is known to fail on these. The TCU is of course inside the transmission as part of the whole mechatronic valve body unit with range selector. Might as well replace the trans for as expensive the parts are new.

From your error codes, it looks like you have a CAN-bus failure. I have attached two pdf files, one of the pertinent error codes for your transmission and one of the VCDS method of testing your CAN-bus.

Good luck...
