Default ESP kills engine for 1-2seconds at 60-65mph when accelerating 4B C5 A6 4.2 2000

Hi,

I have weird issue with in my A6. When i am accelerating (overtaking another car) on the road, at 60-65mph ESP light flashes and it kills my engine for a second or two, it is very long time when you see headlights coming towards you...
Any other speed do not cause this problem, only 60-65mph when accelerating heavily.
Fault codes checked, no faults (Engine & ABS/ESP). ABS unit is Bosch 5.7
Steering wheel calibration has been made yesterday.
Tires has been checked, they are identical in every corner.

What is causing this?

If you have searched this forum thoroughly you will find many suggestions. Check them all out as one may be the solution. However, I have a 2001 A6 2.7 and it does this as well. I have come to know when I can anticipate it and I simply disengage the ESP before I stick my foot in it.

Do you mean dirty ABS sensors?

Dirty sensors are one. There are others. Some suggest replacing some $1000++ part. My ESP just seems overly sensitive. Triggers very quick. I have learned to live with it. No fast acceleration w/o turning it off first. Living in an area with lots of snow I don't mind it triggering with a modest slip of traction. Just can't get on the gas on dry pavement for more than couple seconds or it will trigger.

At least we have a button to turn it off, sometimes really driving is more fun than being controlled.....sometimes.

But perhaps for sale on ebay at considerable discount used.

Throw money and time at it, you may find a solution. If so,please pass it onto us who have accepted this as an imperfection in an otherwise fine car and learned to live with it. Otherwise turn it off when you need to use the power we love.

Default You can take it to a dealer who can change out the yaw sensor.

That way it's on THEM for the parts cost and labor, as well as diagnostic.
BTW, it's only $120-140 or so for diagnostic…let them figure it out.
