That's not my answer, I'm just trying to help the OP and I'm sure he can figure that one out....he also has other options.

I've known these guys for 25 years and the sons run it, they don't hose people.
But if you want some next time I'm there I'll see if $15 rings a bell per plate.

After being through this myself, I KNOW there are fairly small (about 1 inch diameter) plastic anchors built into the front bumper with a hole in the center to take the screw from the license plate bracket.
You can't see them unless the bumper is taken apart, and you will not hit them by "luck".
So, unless you just want to punch a set of random holes in your bumper and hope the plate stays tight, you really need the factory mount (or a template from a factory mount) to get your screws in the right place.

I'm good for now (until the next kid wrecks it again) since my parts car came with a good one.
(Actually better than the one I fixed up)

Here is the little bugger:

I was out in the garage and found the part I was talking about.

Seems Audi gave the front plate mount a bit of thought.
