How do you all clean the MAF Sensor?
I've been working on replacing the ignition coils and spark plugs today. Prior, I removed the Air Box as well as old Air Filter, MAF Sensor, and Accordion Hose.
The old Air Filter is Gross; its rotten, just gross. I always thought my MAF Sensor was spotless. I broke the clip on the electrical housing harness, removed the MAF sensor, and looked at the mesh, dark fine soot. I used baby wipes to wipe of the soot. I know this was not mindful.
Is there a safe and reliable way for cleaning this expensive component?

If you can get it, CRC does a MAF cleaner spray (05110) - made for this very purpose. Seems to have a good reputation here. Nothing that is abbrasive or leaves any residue - should ever come near your MAF sensor.
If you can't get this, use an electronics cleaner spray. Whichever you go with, make sure it gets to air and dry out well. Just don't use brake cleaner (too harsh on filaments) or WD40 and the like (leaves lots of residue, its for lubing not cleaning).
