according to this TPI you must have sw 0050 to use the new green atf and quote from that
"The new ATF needs the software version. Failing to update the software will lead to gearbox damage"

I just picked up the last 3L of 6+@$22ea off of there.
Now, I'll "shop" for the other 3 that I need.
Bavaria Auto agreed to take back a return of the 6L of LG8 that I had gotten from them already.
Slowly, I'm getting there...

Audi told me to go with LG8, even though my trans has the software update to LG6+. Audi supercedes the no longer available LG6+ with LG8.
I got some NOS LG6+ for my change. ECS Tuning still has some.
I'm going to do the filter & fluid change tomorrow. I'm going to attempt to fill using a wide tipped funnel with a "long" plastic hose. I'll set it up so that the funnel is up in the engine compartment with the hose snaked down into the fill plug hole. I'm thinking that will be easier than pumping the fluid up out of the liter containers.
Anyone else ever give this a try? I'll let everyone know how it works.

I started using this oil suction gun from Harborfreight: Oil Suction Gun - Save on this Suction Gun at Harbor Freight
If you are not careful, it can get a little messy. I get my A6 up on jackstands all around. Then I start start the process of filling the oil suction gun, then pump it in. Once it starts to overflow, I start the car and then keep going. Once you get into a rhythm it goes pretty quickly. I wipe down the outside of the gun after each fill to make sure I have a good grip on it.
I have done this 3 times and haven't had a problem yet.

I dropped the pan yesterday, & got 4 1/2 liters out. The fluid was brown & pretty "dirty". The fluid certainly didn't have any "blue"color left to it! The bottom of the pan was coated with a thin layer of sludge, & the magnets (4) were pretty well covered in fine steel powder & that sludge.
I'm glad that I am doing the change, & I'll complete the refill tomorrow.
