2008 A6 Intermittent Wiper Interval - Too Long
Hello Forum
I realize this may be one of many wiper issues that have been posted over the years, but does anyone have any suggestion what could be causing the interval on the intermittent wipers to be excessively long?
There only three intermittent positions on the wiper arm and each is functioning the same. I thought it may be the intermittent wiper relay, but also wanted to know if there may be a way to adjust the interval.
Regards

The interval is not set by time. It is driven by the sensor mounted to the windshield in the rearview mirror bracket and by the speed of the car. When the sensor on the windshield detects water the wiper wipes. I think that the three settings on the stalk adjust the sensitivity of the rain detector. Also, if the car is not moving the sensitivity drops to a less sensitive level.
Have you had your windshield replaced recently? Is the windshield over the rear view mirror clean and free of any stickers?
