gotcha on the glow plugs, in that case I would actually ensure your fuel injectors are working properly, since that kind of mpg for your vehicle is horrid. I've seen 6.7l diesel trucks get that mileage!

Based upon the how bad your mileage is, I don't think simply using a standard cleaner will do the business and would recommend getting each individual injector cleaned. But you can always try something simple to start with and go from there.

....like Trekie said. Are you confirming that your gas mileage is based on the computer or based on the trip odometer divided by gallons added? From my experience with three separate Audi's, the trip computer is never accurate.

Hmm, well I had a VW passat before and trip computer was quite spot on based on my driving style. Only like 5 or 10 miles difference!
I'm driving it daily now and will update what I got at the end!
