Default ABS+ESP+Parking Brake+Adaptive Headlight Failure

Bought a very well taken care of '06 A6 4.2 two years ago. Done regular maintenance and car has been a dream to own. Last week, ABS/ESP and Parking Brake Failure lights all came on with associated annoying beeps (all brakes still work fine). They did NOT come back on during the next drive and have been intermittent ever since. They come on every 3 or 4 drives now. This morning Adaptive headlight failure warning came on - and will not go off. Am I extremely unlucky and need to rewire one of the headlights and send the ABS control module in for rebuild, or could this just be a strange electrical issue. I believe the original battery is in the car. I do not have VAGCOM. Any ideas?

I am experiencing almost the same thing on my 2005 A6 3.2. The trouble started two weeks ago. First a bunch of stalls within a few minutes, then the stalls were joined by alarms for ABS, ESP, and Parking Brake (but not Adaptive Light system, though the car does have the Adaptive Light system). The dealer diagnostics showed a throttle body problem and replaced the costly little unit. Car seemed OK for 10 days and a few hundred miles, but today the ABS, ESP, and Parking Brake alarms have returned. No stalls though, and no obvious problems with the brakes. I may take it to an independent shop, as those gentle but thorough wallet vacuumings at the dealership are getting old.

I did read in an old post someone had a dirty intake sensor that caused the ABS/ESP/Parkbrake issue. Anyone know how to get to this sensor? Also-what the heck does that have to do with the ABS?

BBA Reman rebuilt my ABS module. Very quick turnaround. All ABS ESP warnings gone. Highly Recommend! Still have adaptive headlight failure . My hot plastic cutter is in the mail to cut it open and do a rewire.

I think you are going to need a rebuilt, good used, or new ABS control module. Going to an independent didn't save me much because there was little labor and plenty of part--$2089 for a new one. The ABS unit, when you get a good one in there, may make ALL those alarms go away. I might have had some Adaptive Light failure light action, too. It's all a blur. Anyway, the independent took my car in on Monday morning with no appointment, had it diagnosed by mid-afternoon, and got the car back to me by noon or early afternoon on Wednesday. No trouble since, and I'm getting much better gas mileage now because my wallet is so much lighter.

Yep, took my car to Audi to diagnose, it was the ABS module. Took it out myself and sent it to BBA-Reman for overhaul. After a quick return by them, reinstalled, all the lights went out. Total cost, $120(Audi dig.) + $275(rebuild) =$395, not too bad. Audi wanted $2800 for a new one installed.

Changing the abs module fixed the adaptive lights aswell? I have the same problem as you.

No. I still have the adaptive headlight failure. Bought a "hot knife" to cut the headlight open and replace the wiring, just haven't gotten around to it yet.
