Can INDYs flash ECM?
I have trouble code P2404 and it's been suggested that I get the ECM flashed. I called a local VW dealer, as they are closer that the nearest Audi dealer, and VW said that they do not have access to Audi files. Then I called a local European car independent shop and they said that they could indeed flash the ECM. My question is: are they able to do this or are they blowing smoke?

More precisely, P2404 is a code indicating a leak. It may or may not actually be a leak.
There are enough people with seemingly insolvable P2404 codes that it makes sense that it could be a firmware issue. An updated Audi flash may cure it. I'd like to hear more about the problem, who proposed the solution, and if it works out in the end.

There are indeed many people who are dealing with the same code, and like me, are driving around for months or years with the CEL on. This thread, https://www.audiworld.com/forums/a6-...2782480/page2/ has some good info by people who are much more knowledgeable than I. It is indicated by at least one of those folks that the only fix that has actually solved the issue is an ECM flash.
The indy shop referenced in my first post quoted $218 for ECM and MMI re-flash. I was just a bit skeptical that they could actually do it after the VW dealer said they did not have access to the proper files.
